Product Description

Garnet Abrasive Sand

Garnet abrasive sand is a naturally occurring silicate mineral deposit. The harder species of abrasive garnet, like almandine, are used for abrasive purposes due to their hardness on the Mohs scale of about 7 to 7.5, providing a perfect balance between cutting speed and superior edge quality.

Our garnet sand is meticulously washed, processed, and screened to the necessary abrasive grade for use in industries such as water jet cutting, sand blasting, and shot blasting. It serves as a safer alternative to silica sand, producing less dust and ensuring a hazard-free work environment. When used correctly, abrasive blasting with garnet provides comparable production rates to silica sand.
