Fused silica is high-purity quartz sand that has been melted to form glass. Its high volume stability, low volumetric expansion, and high purity make fused silica a versatile material for refractory applications, such as aluminum launders.



Raw Material


We source high-purity silica sand (SiO2 > 99%) from local Donghai/Xinyi for our production process.



Manufacturing Process


The silica sand is melted at high temperatures (2000-2300 ºC) to form an amorphous silicon dioxide glassy ingot, which is then cooled. We further process the ingot into fused silica lump, sand, and powder based on customer requirements.

Fused Silica Making Process


Fused Silica is produced using high purity crystal silica from China Donghai-Xinyi. It is electrically fused at temperatures of 1800-2000ºC to create amorphous Silicon dioxide. The resulting material is engineered into various forms such as lumps, cullet, ingots, sand, grain, granular, and powder flour. These forms are ideal for manufacturing PV fused silica crucibles, thermal ceramics, refractories, EMC investment casting ceramic shells, and more.



Fused Silica Sand Appearance and Specifications:



  • Must not contain any unfused parts.

  • Should be free of foreign materials like strings, plastic lines, carbon, wood, metal, or other contaminants.

  • Only conditional black dots are allowed; all other color dots are prohibited.

  • Black spot diameter should not exceed 2mm.

  • Total black dots should be less than 10 per square meter when opening the big bag.
