It is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, soluble in hydrofluoric acid, and strong caustic soda solutions. This silica gel exhibits high mechanical strength, good wear resistance, an average pore diameter of 2.0-3.0nm, surface area of 650-800m2/g, and pore volume of 0.35-0.45ml/g.
It is mainly used for drying and moistureproof purposes but can also serve as catalyst carriers, adsorbents, separators, and variable-pressure adsorbents.

Al Silica gel is a colorless or light yellow transparent or translucent spherical particles with stable chemical properties. It is non-combustible, insoluble in any solvent except strong base and hydrofluoric acid. Compared to silica gel with fine holes, Al Silica gel has a similar adsorption capacity at low humidity levels (e.g., RH=10%, RH=20%), but offers 6-10% higher adsorption capacity at high humidity levels (e.g., RH=80%, RH=90%). Additionally, it has a thermal stability of 350ºC, which is more than 150ºC higher than silica gel with fine holes, making it ideal for variable temperature adsorption and separation applications.

The European Union classified cobalt chloride as a Class II carcinogen in 1998. Blue gum containing cobalt chloride has been banned in Europe and the United States and gradually phased out. To meet market demands, cobalt-free environmental discoloration silica gel was developed.
The product is based on blue gum color-changing silica gel. Orange color-changing silica gel is made from fine porous silica gel impregnated with an inorganic salt mixture.
