Fused silica is high purity quartz sand that has been melted to form glass. Its high volume stability, low volumetric expansion, and high purity make fused silica a versatile material for refractory applications.

Raw Material

We strictly choose high purity silica sand (SiO2 > 99%) from local Donghai/Xinyi as our raw material.

Manufacturing Process

The silica sand is melted at high temperatures (2000-2300 ºC) to form amorphous silicon dioxide glassy ingot, which is then cooled. The products are further processed into fused silica lump, sand, and powder according to customer requirements.

Fused Silica Making Process

Fused Silica is produced from high-purity crystal silica sourced from China Donghai-Xinyi. It is electrically fused at temperatures ranging from 1800-2000ºC to create amorphous Silicon dioxide. The material is then specially processed into lumps, cullet, ingots, sand, grain, granular, and powder flour forms. These are tailored for manufacturing PV fused silica crucibles, thermal ceramics, refractories, EMC investment casting ceramic shells, and more.

Fused Silica Sand Appearance and Specifications:

1. No unfused parts are permitted.


2. No foreign materials like strings, plastic lines, carbon, wood, metal, or other contaminants are allowed.


3. Color dots are prohibited, except for conditional black dots.


4. Black spot diameter should not exceed 2mm.


5. Total black dots must be fewer than 10 per big bag, with a limit of 10 dots per square meter.
