The European Union classified cobalt chloride as a Class II carcinogen in 1998, leading to the ban of blue gum containing cobalt chloride in Europe and the United States. To address market demands, cobalt-free environmental discoloration silica gel was developed.

This product is a breakthrough from blue gum color-changing silica gel to orange color-changing silica gel. It is made from fine porous silica gel infused with an inorganic salt mixture and utilizes new non-toxic compound dyes. By eliminating pollution caused by dyes and discoloration agents, this product offers superior environmental protection.

Application

Our cobalt-free environmental discoloration silica gel is primarily used as a desiccant and indicator of desiccant saturation levels in sealed packaging. It is ideal for maintaining the relative humidity of space medium in precision instruments, general packaging, and instruments vulnerable to moisture.

Blue Silica Gel

Blue silica gel is an ideal primary desiccant that can be used alone or blended with other desiccants for applications requiring visual control of moisture. Chemsize silica gel beads are saturated with a moisture indicating solution, giving them a deep blue color when dry, which changes to purple and pink as moisture is adsorbed.

SiO₂· nH₂O + CoCl₂

Features:

• Narrow pore silica gel with interconnecting pores of 20-30 nanometers
