Garnet abrasive sand is a naturally occurring silicate mineral deposit. The harder species of abrasive garnet like almandine are used for abrasive purposes because it has a hardness on the Mohs scale of about 7 to 7.5 and provides the perfect balance between cutting speed and superior edge quality.
Garnet sand is washed, processed, and screened to the necessary abrasive grade for use as an abrasive media in industries such as water jet cutting, sand blasting, and shot blasting.

Garnet is a versatile sandblasting mineral sourced from Almandite or Andradite deposits. Our Almandite garnet is available in Hard Rock or Alluvial variations, suitable for wet and dry sandblasting applications. With a Mohs Hardness of 7 to 8, garnet is highly durable and cost-effective, offering excellent coating adhesion and minimal grit transfer. It is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and low-dusting, making it ideal for various applications.
We offer Galaxy Garnet for premium waterjet use and Andradite Garnet for cost-effective applications. Both types are cleaned to waterjet specifications, with Galaxy Garnet being slightly denser and harder. The Andradite Garnet is a more affordable option with a trace mineral called Wollastonite.
For regular sandblasting, we provide 20/40 and 30/60 grades of garnet, ensuring efficient and effective surface preparation.
