Fused silica is a high-purity quartz sand that has been melted to form glass. Its high volume stability, low volumetric expansion, and exceptional purity make it an incredibly versatile material for refractory applications, such as in aluminum launders.

Fused Silica is produced from high purity crystal silica sourced from China Donghai-Xinyi. It is electrically fused at temperatures ranging from 1800-2000ºC to create amorphous Silicon dioxide. The resulting material is engineered into various forms such as lumps, cullet, ingots, sand, grain, granular, and powder flour. These forms are specifically designed for manufacturing PV fused silica crucibles, thermal ceramics, refractories, EMC investment casting ceramic shells, and more.

Fused Silica Sand Appearance and Specifications:

• Must not contain any unfused parts


• Should be free of foreign materials like string, plastic, carbon, wood, metal, or other contaminants


• Only conditional black dots are allowed


• Black spot diameter should not exceed 2mm


• Total black dots quantity should be less than 10 per square meter
