Blue silica gel is composed of blue or light blue glassy particles. The product is available in two types: blue silica gel indicator and blue silica gel. It exhibits hygroscopic properties, changing from blue to purple and finally to light pink as it absorbs moisture. This color change indicates the humidity level of the environment and signals when the desiccant needs replacement. Blue silica gel can be used independently as a desiccant or in conjunction with Type A Silica Gel.
Application:
Blue silica gel is primarily used for absorbing moisture and preventing rust in instruments, gauges, and equipment within enclosed conditions. As it absorbs moisture, it transitions from blue to red, visually indicating the relative humidity of the environment. When used with ordinary silica gel or a drier, it helps determine the moisture absorption capacity of the drier and assesses the relative humidity of the surroundings.
