Our fused silica is derived from high purity quartz sand, melted to create a glassy ingot with exceptional properties. With high volume stability, low volumetric expansion, and superior purity, our fused silica is ideal for various refractory applications, including aluminum launders.

We meticulously select high purity silica sand (SiO2>99%) from Donghai/Xinyi as our raw material. Through a precise fusion process at temperatures ranging from 2000-2300 ºC, the silica sand transforms into amorphous silicon dioxide glassy ingot, which is then further processed into fused silica lump, sand, and powder to meet the specific requirements of our customers.

Fused Silica Making Process

Fused Silica is produced using high purity crystal silica from China Donghai-Xinyi. It is electrically fused at temperatures ranging from 1800-2000ºC to create amorphous Silicon dioxide. The resulting material is then specially engineered into various forms such as lumps, cullet, ingots, sand, grain, granular, and powder flour. These forms are specifically designed for making PV fused silica crucibles, thermal ceramics, refractories, EMC investment casting ceramic shells, and more.

Fused Silica Sand Appearance and Specifications:

1. Must not contain any unfused parts.


2. Should be free of foreign materials like strings, plastic lines, carbon, wood, metal, or other contaminants.


3. Only conditional black dots are allowed; all other color dots are prohibited.


4. Black spot diameter should not exceed 2mm.


5. Total black dots quantity should be less than 10 per square meter when opening the big bag.
