Al Silica gel is a colorless or light yellow transparent or translucent spherical particles with a chemical formula mSiO2.nAl2O3.xH2O. It has stable chemical properties, is non-combustible, and insoluble in any solvent except strong base and hydrofluoric acid. Compared to silica gel with fine holes, Al Silica Gel has a similar adsorption capacity at low humidity levels (e.g., RH=10%, RH=20%), but exhibits 6-10% higher adsorption capacity at high humidity levels (e.g., RH=80%, RH=90%). Additionally, it has a thermal stability of 350ºC, which is more than 150ºC higher than silica gel with fine holes, making it ideal for variable temperature adsorption and separation applications.
Al Silica Gel is primarily used for the adsorption and separation of light hydrocarbons by dehydrating natural gas. It can also serve as a catalyst and catalyst carrier in the petroleum industry, as well as an industrial desiccant, liquid adsorbent, and gas separation agent.

It is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and concentrated caustic soda solution. This silica gel has high mechanical strength, good wear resistance, a pore volume of 0.50-0.80ml/g, an average pore diameter of 5.0-8.0nm, and a specific surface area of 450-600m2/g.
It is primarily used as an air humidity regulator, catalyst, and catalyst carrier. Type B silica gel is also used in making scented silica gel and serves as raw materials for fine chemical products like silica gel chromatography.
