Type A silica gel is a transparent or translucent particle with the chemical molecular formula mSiO2.nH2O. It is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and strong caustic soda solutions. This silica gel has high mechanical strength and good wear resistance with an average pore diameter of 2.0-3.0nm, surface area of 650-800m2/g, and pore volume of 0.35-0.45ml/g.
It is mainly used for drying and moistureproof purposes but can also be utilized as catalyst carriers, adsorbents, separators, and variable-pressure adsorbents.

Blue silica gel is a type of desiccant characterized by its hygroscopicity process, changing from blue to purple and finally to light pink as it absorbs moisture. It can indicate the humidity level of the environment and the need for replacement. It can be used alone or with Type A Silica Gel.
Blue silica gel is mainly used for absorbing moisture and preventing rust in instruments, gauges, and equipment in enclosed conditions. It changes color from blue to red when absorbing moisture, visually indicating the relative humidity of the environment. When used with ordinary silica gel or a drier, it helps determine the extent of moisture absorption and judge relative humidity.
