Production Process

Fused silica production process
Fused silica is high purity quartz sand that has been melted to form glass. High volume stability, low volumetric expansion and high purity make fused silica a very useful and versatile material for refractory applications, whether in aluminum launders or other highly cyclical applications.

We strictly choosed the high purity silica sand (SiO2>99%) in local Donghai/Xinyi as our raw material. The melted silica sand becomes amorphous silicon dioxide glassy ingot after being fused at high temperature(2000-2300 ºC),and cooling. We further process the products into fused silica lump,sand and powder according to customer's requirements.

Fused Silica is made of high purity crystal silica from China Donghai-Xinyi by electrically fusing (fusing temperature 1800-2000ºC) to amorphous Silicon dioxide, then is specially engineered into lumps,cullet, ingots, sand,grain,granular and powder flour form designed for making PV fused silica crucible,thermal ceramic,refractory,EMC investment casting ceramic shell etc.

Fused Silica sand Appearance  and Specifications:

1): It is forbidden to contain any unfused parts. 

2): It is forbiden to have Foreign material, such as string, plastic line, carbon or wooden material, metal or other outside contaminants.

3): All color dots is forbidden except conditional black dots

4): It is not acceptable that black spot diameter is larger than 2mm.

5): Total black dots quantity should be less than 10 when opening the big bag equal or less than 10 dots per
square meters

Fused Silica Investment Casting grade  
investment casting, also known as Precision casting or lost-wax process, is used to manufacture products for the automotive, military, aerospace, medical, commercial, and recreational markets.
It is my please to introduce Chemsize fused silica. We are one of the leading suppliers of raw materials and machines used in the investment casting process for the last 30 years. 

Most investment casting foundries use Zircon Flour for making the primary slurry. Zircon continues to be in short supply and the prices are rising. We are thus promoting the use of Fused Silica flour in your primary slurry because of the following advantages:

1) Particle shape - one of the main differences in our quality is better particles shape which is important in a primary slurry.
2) Decrease in material consumption - Fused Silica's density is roughly half of Zircon's density. If you replace 20% Zircon flour in your primary slurry batch with Fused Silica, you'll need lesser material by weight. For example if your slurry mix had 50 kgs of Zircon and we try and replace 10 kgs then you would need to add around 6 kgs of Fused Silica flour to achieve your existing viscosities and flow properties.
3) Increased permeability and porosity - Zircon is very dense. Fused Silica is lighter and does not pack as tightly as Zircon which is why it helps in improving the permeability of your shell. It is also more porous.
4) Easier knock-out - Fused Silica knocks out much easier than Zircon or Alumino-Silicates. This is because of the Cristobalite formation while pouring which easily breaks down upon cooling.
5) Faster leaching and shell removal - the moment you add fused silica in the shell it helps in the leaching process and it is much easier to remove shell materials off cavities and holes.
6) Consistency and sustainability - Our Fused Silica coming from China Lianyungang area(world's biggest area of producing Fused silica) being man-made is highly consistent as opposed to Zircon. We also often face supply issues with Zircon whereas there's no such issue with Fused Silica.
7) Fused Silica is cheaper - the pricing on our Fused Silica is US0.56/kg FOB LIANYUNGANG PORT. 

Fused silica Induction furnace lining ramming material

Summary:The intermediate frequency furnace ramming material is also called the intermediate frequency furnace lining material,intermediate frequency furnace ramming material,intermediate frequency furnace dry vibration material, induction furnace dry ramming and so on. It includes acidic, neutral and alkaline ramming material. the acidic ramming material takes high purity quartz and fused silica as the main raw material, the compound additive as sintering agent. The neutral ramming material takes the alumina and high alumina as main raw materials, the composite additive as sintering agent. The alkaline ramming material takes high purity fused corundum, high purity fused magnesia and high purity spinel as main raw material and the composite additive as sintering agent.
