Type A silica gel is a transparent or translucent particle with a chemical molecular formula mSiO2.nH2O. It is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and strong caustic soda solutions. This silica gel exhibits high mechanical strength, good wear resistance, an average pore diameter of 2.0-3.0nm, a surface area of 650-800m2/g, and a pore volume of 0.35-0.45ml/g.

Al Silica gel is a colorless or light yellow transparent or translucent spherical particles with stable chemical properties. It is non-combustible, insoluble in most solvents except strong bases and hydrofluoric acid. Compared to silica gel with fine holes, Al Silica gel has similar adsorption capacity at low humidity levels (e.g., RH=10%, RH=20%), but offers 6-10% higher adsorption capacity at high humidity levels (e.g., RH=80%, RH=90%). Additionally, it has a thermal stability of 350ºC, which is more than 150ºC higher than silica gel with fine holes, making it ideal for variable temperature adsorption and separation applications.
Al Silica gel is primarily used for the adsorption and separation of light hydrocarbons in natural gas dehydration. It can also serve as a catalyst and catalyst carrier in the petroleum industry, as well as an industrial desiccant, liquid adsorbent, and gas separation agent.
