Silicon metal powder, is silver grey or dark grey powder with metal luster. With high melting point, good heat resistance, and high resistivity and anti-oxidation, it is an indispensable raw material for many high-tech industries, called "industrial monosodium glutamate"used as the indispensable basic raw materials of a lot of high-tech products.

Application
1). Industrial silicon metal powder is widely used for refractories and powder metallurgy to improve thermostability, wear resistance and inoxidizability of products. Its products are widely used in steel furnaces, kilns and kiln furniture.
 

2).In organosilicon chemical industry, industrial silicon metal powder is used as basic material for organosilicon polymer synthesis to produce silicon monomer, silicone oil, and silicon rubber preservative, so as to improve thermostability, electric insulativity, corrosion resistance and waterproofing of products.
 

3).Industrial silicon metal powder is applied to the manufacturer of trichlorosilane and polysilicon which pull into monocrystalline silicon .silicon silice is widely used in the hi-tech fields and is essential raw material to manufacture integrated circuits,electronic components.

 

4)In metallurgy and foundry industry, industrial silica powder is used as non-iron-based alloy additives and silicon steel alloying agent to improve hardenability.The industrial silicon powder can also be used as the reducing agent of some metal and in new-type ceramic alloy.etc.

Silicon powder: enhancing the performance of your products

Silicon Metal is typically produced in a size of 0-100 mm, but for most applications further size reduction is required. The optimum particle size depends strongly on the final application. That means in many cases, some optimization work is required to find the most cost competitive solution. Silicon metal powder is produced by crushing, milling and classifying silicon material to obtain the required particle size.

Silicon Metal powder can be produced with a top cut for customers that only need to control the amount of coarse particles. It can also be produced with a top and bottom cut for customers that need to control both the amount of coarse and fine particles. The shape of the particles can also, to some extent, be altered by the technology used at the micronizing stage. Contamination free micronizing is also possible for customers that cannot accept any at all contamination from the milling media.

Micronized silicon with top cut can be supplied with a top cut of 6 microns and up. Silicon with bottom and top cut can be supplied with a bottom cut of very few microns and up. The cost will depend largely on production speed and yield.
