Properties:

Blue silica gel consists of blue or light blue glassy particles. It can change color from blue to purple and finally to light pink as it absorbs moisture, indicating the humidity level of the environment. This product can be used as a desiccant on its own or in conjunction with Type A Silica Gel.

Application:

Blue silica gel is primarily used for absorbing moisture and preventing rust in instruments, gauges, and equipment in enclosed conditions. When it absorbs moisture, it changes color from blue to red, visually indicating the relative humidity of the environment. When used with ordinary silica gel or a drier, it helps determine the moisture absorption level and relative humidity of the surroundings. This versatile product is widely used in packing precision instruments, leathers, shoes, clothes, foodstuffs, medicines, and household electric appliances.

Blue silica gel is a versatile desiccant that can be customized in terms of particle size, packaging, moisture, and specifications. It is perfect as a primary desiccant or can be blended with other desiccants for applications requiring visual moisture control. The Chemsize silica gel beads are saturated with a moisture indicating solution, turning deep blue when dry and changing to purple and pink as they adsorb moisture.

Chemical Formula: SiO₂· nH₂O + CoCl₂

Also known as narrow pore silica gel, Chemsize features interconnecting pores with diameters of 20-30 nanometers. These pores effectively trap and hold moisture through physical adsorption and capillary condensation. Silica gel can remove moisture at temperatures up to 220°F, but it is most effective at room temperature (70-90°F) and high relative humidity (60-90% Rh).
