Blue silica gel consists of blue or light blue glassy particles. The product is available as blue silica gel indicator and blue silica gel. It exhibits hygroscopic properties, changing from blue to purple and eventually to light pink as it absorbs moisture. This color change indicates the humidity level and the need for replacement. Blue silica gel can be used as a standalone desiccant or in conjunction with Type A Silica Gel.
Blue silica gel is primarily used for absorbing moisture and preventing rust in instruments, gauges, and equipment in enclosed conditions. As it absorbs moisture, it transitions from blue to red, visually indicating the relative humidity of the environment. When used with ordinary silica gel or a drier, it helps assess the moisture absorption and relative humidity levels. This versatile product is commonly used as a desiccant for precision instruments, leather goods, shoes, clothing, food items, medications, and household appliances.

The Chemical Formula of our Blue Silica Gel is SiO2·nH2O + CoCl2. Known as a narrow pore silica gel, Chemsize features interconnecting pores with diameters of 20-30 nanometers, providing excellent moisture adsorption capabilities through physical adsorption and capillary condensation.
Our Blue Indicating Silica Gel changes color from blue to purple to pink as it adsorbs moisture, making it easy to monitor. It can effectively remove moisture at temperatures up to 220°F, but performs best at room temperature (70-90°F) and high relative humidity (60-90% Rh).
