Type A silica gel is a transparent or translucent particle with a chemical formula mSiO2·nH2O. It is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and strong caustic soda solutions. This silica gel exhibits high mechanical strength, good wear resistance, an average pore diameter of 2.0-3.0nm, surface area of 650-800m2/g, and pore volume of 0.35-0.45ml/g.
It is primarily used for drying and moistureproof purposes but can also serve as catalyst carriers, adsorbents, separators, and variable-pressure adsorbents.

Al Silica gel is a colorless or light yellow transparent or translucent spherical particles with stable chemical properties. It is non-combustible, insoluble in any solvent except strong base and hydrofluoric acid. Compared to silica gel with fine holes, Al Silica Gel has a higher adsorption capacity for high humidity levels (RH=80%, RH=90%) and superior thermal stability (350ºC).
