Type A silica gel is a transparent or translucent particle with the chemical formula mSiO2·nH2O. It is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and strong caustic soda solutions. This silica gel has high mechanical strength, good wear resistance, an average pore diameter of 2.0-3.0nm, surface area of 650-800m2/g, and pore volume of 0.35-0.45ml/g.
It is mainly used for drying and moistureproof purposes, and can also be utilized as catalyst carriers, adsorbents, separators, and variable-pressure adsorbents.

Al Silica gel is a colorless or light yellow transparent or translucent spherical particles with stable chemical properties. It is non-combustible, insoluble in any solvent except strong bases and hydrofluoric acid. Compared to silica gel with fine holes, Al Silica gel has a higher adsorption capacity for high humidity levels (RH=80%, RH=90%) and superior thermal stability (350ºC).
Al Silica gel is primarily used for the adsorption and separation of light hydrocarbons in natural gas dehydration. It can also serve as a catalyst and catalyst carrier in the petroleum industry, as well as an industrial desiccant liquid adsorbent and gas separation agent.
