Blue silica gel consists of blue or light blue glassy particles. The product is available as blue silica gel indicator and blue silica gel. It is characterized by its hygroscopicity process, turning from blue to purple, and finally to light pink as it absorbs moisture. This color change indicates the humidity level of the environment and signals when a replacement desiccant is needed. Blue silica gel can be used independently as a desiccant or in conjunction with Type A Silica Gel.

Application:

Blue silica gel is primarily used for absorbing moisture and preventing rust in instruments, gauges, and equipment in enclosed conditions. As it absorbs moisture, it changes color from blue to red, visually indicating the relative humidity of the environment. When used with ordinary silica gel or a drier, it helps determine the moisture absorption level and relative humidity of the surroundings. This versatile product is commonly used as a silica gel drier for packaging precision instruments, leathers, shoes, clothes, foodstuffs, medicines, and household electric appliances.
