Garnet abrasive sand is a naturally occurring silicate mineral deposit. The harder species of abrasive garnet, like almandine, are used for abrasive purposes due to their hardness on the Mohs scale of about 7 to 7.5, providing a perfect balance between cutting speed and superior edge quality.
Garnet sand is meticulously washed, processed, and screened to the necessary abrasive grade for use as an abrasive media in industries such as water jet cutting, sand blasting, and shot blasting.
Garnet abrasive is a safer alternative to silica sand, producing less dust and offering comparable production rates. When used properly, abrasive blasting with Garnet ensures efficient results without the hazards associated with silica sand.
