Type A silica gel is a transparent or translucent particle with a chemical molecular formula mSiO2·nH2O. It is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and strong caustic soda solutions. This silica gel exhibits high mechanical strength, good wear resistance, an average pore diameter of 2.0-3.0nm, surface area of 650-800m2/g, and pore volume of 0.35-0.45ml/g.
