Blue Silica Gel



Properties:


Blue silica gel consists of blue or light blue glassy particles. It can change color from blue to purple to light pink as it absorbs moisture, indicating the humidity level and the need for replacement. It can be used as a desiccant on its own or in conjunction with Type A Silica Gel.



Application:


Blue silica gel is ideal for absorbing moisture and preventing rust in instruments, gauges, and equipment in enclosed conditions. It changes color from blue to red when it absorbs moisture, providing a visual indication of relative humidity. When used with ordinary silica gel or a drier, it helps determine the extent of moisture absorption and assesses relative humidity levels. This versatile product is commonly used as a silica gel drier for packing precision instruments, leathers, shoes, clothes, foodstuffs, medicines, and household electric appliances.

Chemical Formula: SiO2· nH2O + CoCl2



Also known as narrow pore silica gel, Chemsize features a vast network of interconnecting pores with diameters of 20-30 nanometers. These pores have a strong affinity for moisture, utilizing physical adsorption and capillary condensation to trap and hold it. Silica gel effectively removes moisture at temperatures up to 220°F, with optimal performance at room temperature (70-90°F) and high relative humidity (60-90% Rh).
