The European Union classified cobalt chloride as a Class II carcinogen in 1998. Blue gum containing cobalt chloride has been banned in Europe and the United States, gradually phased out. To meet market demands, cobalt-free environmental discoloration silica gel was developed.
The product is based on blue gum color-changing silica gel, with orange color-changing silica gel made from fine porous silica gel impregnated with an inorganic salt mixture. It utilizes new non-toxic compound dyes to eliminate pollution caused by dyes and discoloration agents, making it an environmentally friendly option with excellent adsorption performance.
Mainly used as a desiccant and indicator of desiccant saturation level in sealed packaging, especially in precision instruments and general packaging to prevent moisture damage.

Blue silica gel is an ideal primary desiccant that can be used alone or blended with other desiccants for applications requiring visual control of moisture. Chemsize silica gel beads are saturated with a moisture-indicating solution, turning deep blue when dry and changing to purple and pink as they adsorb moisture.
Chemsize blue silica gel's chemical formula is SiO2·nH2O + CoCl2.
Blue indicating silica gel is commonly used in compressed air dryers, gas drying, breathers, and packaged goods.
Type A silica gel is a transparent or translucent particle with the chemical formula mSiO2.nH2O. It is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and strong caustic soda solutions, with high mechanical strength and good wear resistance.
Type A silica gel is primarily used for drying and moistureproofing, and can also serve as catalyst carriers, adsorbents, separators, and variable-pressure adsorbents.
