Garnet abrasive sand is a naturally occurring silicate mineral deposit. The harder species of abrasive garnet, like almandine, are used for abrasive purposes due to their hardness on the Mohs scale of about 7 to 7.5, providing a perfect balance between cutting speed and superior edge quality.
Garnet sand is meticulously washed, processed, and screened to the necessary abrasive grade for use as an abrasive media in industries such as water jet cutting, sand blasting, and shot blasting.
Our Garnet abrasive is a safe alternative to silica sand, producing less dust and ensuring a safer working environment. When used properly, abrasive blasting with Garnet provides comparable production rates to silica sand.

Garnet is a versatile sandblasting mineral derived from Almandite or Andradite deposits. Our Almandite garnet is available in both Hard Rock and Alluvial types, suitable for wet and dry sandblasting applications. With a Mohs Hardness of 7 to 8, garnet is known for its high hardness and cost-effectiveness as a sandblasting abrasive. It is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and low-dusting, making it ideal for various applications.
We offer Galaxy Garnet for premium waterjet use and Andradite Garnet for standard waterjet applications. Both types are cleaned and screened to meet waterjet specifications, providing consistent cutting performance.
For regular sandblasting using 30/60 and 20/40 grades, our garnet offers efficient coverage and minimal dusting for optimal results.
