Fused silica is high purity quartz sand that has been melted to form glass. Its high volume stability, low volumetric expansion, and high purity make it a versatile material for refractory applications.



Raw Material


We strictly choose high purity silica sand (SiO2 > 99%) from Donghai/Xinyi as our raw material.



Manufacturing Process


The silica sand is melted at high temperatures (2000-2300 ºC) to form amorphous silicon dioxide glassy ingot, which is then processed into fused silica lump, sand, and powder according to customer requirements.

Fused Silica is produced using high purity crystal silica from China Donghai-Xinyi. It is electrically fused at temperatures ranging from 1800-2000ºC to create amorphous Silicon dioxide. The resulting material is engineered into various forms such as lumps, cullet, ingots, sand, grain, granular, and powder flour. These forms are ideal for manufacturing PV fused silica crucibles, thermal ceramics, refractories, EMC investment casting ceramic shells, and more.



Fused Silica Sand Appearance and Specifications:



  1. No unfused parts are allowed.

  2. Foreign materials like string, plastic, carbon, wood, metal, or other contaminants are strictly prohibited.

  3. Only conditional black dots are permissible; all other color dots are forbidden.

  4. Black spots with a diameter larger than 2mm are not acceptable.

  5. The total quantity of black dots should not exceed 10 per square meter when opening the big bag.
