Its high volume stability, low volumetric expansion, and exceptional purity make fused silica an incredibly useful and versatile material for refractory applications, including aluminum launders and other highly cyclical uses.

At Lianyungang Chemsize International Trading Co., Ltd., we take pride in using only the highest purity silica sand (SiO2 > 99%) sourced from the local Donghai/Xinyi region as our raw material. Through a meticulous process, the silica sand is melted at temperatures ranging from 2000-2300 ºC, resulting in an amorphous silicon dioxide glassy ingot. After cooling, we further refine the ingot into fused silica lumps, sand, and powder, tailoring the products to meet the specific requirements of our customers.

Fused Silica Making Process

Fused Silica Making Process

Fused Silica is made of high purity crystal silica from China Donghai-Xinyi by electrically fusing (fusing temperature 1800-2000ºC) to amorphous Silicon dioxide. It is then specially engineered into lumps, cullet, ingots, sand, grain, granular, and powder flour forms. These forms are designed for making PV fused silica crucible, thermal ceramic, refractory, EMC investment casting ceramic shell, and more.

Fused Silica Sand Appearance and Specifications:

1. It is forbidden to contain any unfused parts.


2. It is forbidden to have foreign material, such as string, plastic line, carbon or wooden material, metal, or other outside contaminants.


3. All color dots are forbidden except conditional black dots.


4. Black spot diameter larger than 2mm is not acceptable.


5. Total black dots quantity should be less than 10 when opening the big bag, equal to or less than 10 dots per square meter.
