Fused silica is high purity quartz sand that has been melted to form glass. Its high volume stability, low volumetric expansion, and high purity make it a versatile material for refractory applications.



Raw Material


We source high purity silica sand (SiO2 > 99%) from Donghai/Xinyi for our production process.



Manufacturing Process


The silica sand is melted at high temperatures (2000-2300 ºC) to form an amorphous silicon dioxide glassy ingot, which is then cooled. We further process the ingot into fused silica lump, sand, and powder based on customer requirements.

Fused Silica Making Process


Fused Silica is produced from high purity crystal silica sourced from China Donghai-Xinyi. It is electrically fused at temperatures ranging from 1800-2000ºC to create amorphous Silicon dioxide. The material is then specially processed into lumps, cullet, ingots, sand, grain, granular, and powder flour forms. These are specifically designed for manufacturing PV fused silica crucibles, thermal ceramics, refractories, EMC investment casting ceramic shells, and more.



Fused Silica Sand Appearance and Specifications:



  • Must not contain any unfused parts.

  • Should be free of foreign materials such as strings, plastic lines, carbon, wood, metal, or other contaminants.

  • Any color dots are prohibited except for conditional black dots.

  • Black spot diameter should not exceed 2mm.

  • Total black dots quantity should be less than 10 per square meter when opening the big bag.
