Blue silica gel can be used as a standalone desiccant or in conjunction with Type A Silica Gel.

Blue silica gel is primarily used for absorbing moisture and preventing rust in instruments, gauges, and equipment kept in enclosed conditions. As it absorbs moisture, it transitions from blue to red, visually displaying the relative humidity of the surroundings. When used with ordinary silica gel or a drier, it helps gauge the moisture absorption capacity of the drier and assess the relative humidity of the environment.
